UK: 555MW new photovoltaic installed capacity in 2022, 14.3GW in total
A few days ago, according to the provisional data of the British government, as of the end of December 2022, the new installed capacity of photovoltaic power in the UK was 555MW, with a total of 14.3GW. The installed capacity exceeded 1.2 million units, an increase of 4% over December 2021.

It is reported that the roof projects below 4kW account for the majority of the growth. By the end of December 2022, the new capacity was 288.6MW and the cumulative capacity was 3169.1MW, compared with 2880.5MW in 2021 and 2764.1MW in 2020. According to the UK Micro Power Generation Certification Scheme (MCS), 130596 sets of PV systems were installed in UK households last year, an increase of 115% over 2021, which is the highest level of annual deployment since 2015.

Since 2021, the installed capacity of large-scale photovoltaic projects from 5MW to 25MW has only increased by 23MW. By the end of 2022, the cumulative installed capacity in this field is 4358.5MW, 4335.5MW in 2021 and 4320.5MW in 2020. In 2022, the UK did not increase its PV capacity by more than 25MW. Since 2021, the cumulative installed capacity in this field has been maintained at 1728.7MW, and reached 1653.7MW in 2020.

According to the British government, "the deployment figures of the latest month are provisional data, which may be revised after receiving further data from the new operation site."

By the end of September 2022, 55% (7739MW) of the UK's total installed capacity came from ground-mounted arrays or independent solar devices.
