The World Bank will fund 1000 small solar power grids in Nigeria
Recently, the President of the World Bank announced on Saturday that the Bank plans to collaborate with the Nigerian government and the private sector to provide funding for the construction of 1000 small solar power grids in Nigeria, the largest economy in Africa.

Nigeria has a population of over 200 million and an installed capacity of 12500 megawatts (MW), but electricity generation accounts for only a small portion of it, resulting in millions of households and businesses relying on gasoline and diesel generators. A small power grid consists of small generator sets, typically ranging in size from several thousand watts to 10 megawatts, which is sufficient to power approximately 200 households.
