India: PV module capacity expected to exceed 150GW by 2026
According to the latest India Solar PV Manufacturing Report 2024, India added 20.8GW of Solar Panel and 3.2GW of Solar Battery manufacturing capacity in 2023, bringing the country's total module and cell production capacity to 64.5GW and 5.8GW, respectively.By 2026, India's module production capacity is expected to be more than 150GW, and its cell production capacity will reach As for the upstream polysilicon and wafer capacity, the report expects that it will not come online until 2025.
In terms of technology routes, monocrystalline PERC modules account for 67.5% of total module capacity, by polycrystalline modules at 15.1%, TOPCon modules at 12.3% and thin-film modules at 5.1%.
