Selon l'Agence internationale pour les \u00e9nergies renouvelables (IRENA), le Mali dispose d'un important potentiel d'\u00e9nergie solaire, en particulier dans ses r\u00e9gions septentrionales, o\u00f9 le nombre d'heures d'ensoleillement annuel d\u00e9passe les 3 000 heures. Cet ensoleillement abondant constitue une base naturelle solide pour la mise en \u0153uvre de projets d'\u00e9nergie solaire. Malgr\u00e9 ce vaste potentiel, le march\u00e9 malien des \u00e9nergies renouvelables n'en est qu'\u00e0 ses d\u00e9buts. Le mix \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique du pays est toujours domin\u00e9 par la biomasse traditionnelle et les combustibles fossiles, et l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 reste relativement faible.
