The Netherlands is one of the fastest growing EU countries in solar energy. According to statistics, in 2011, there were fewer than 300 companies engaged in solar panels and other related solar energy fields in the Netherlands, and by the end of 2013, the number of related companies had reached nearly 1,000. According to the prediction of the European Union Photovoltaic Industry Association, the Netherlands will become the sixth largest PV market in the EU by 2020.
